Primary Therapist


JOB DESCRIPTION

Department and Status: Clinical, Exempt

Supervisor: Clinical Director

Positions Supervised: None

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of master level the Mental Health professional;
• Current State of Arkansas Licensure;
• Communication, relationship and time management skills;
• Ability to work cooperatively, respectfully from a team approach;
• Honest, dependable, self motivated and dedicated; and
• Values congruent with this agency’s philosophy and mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mental health assessments, treatment planning and direct services,
   i.e., plan of care, periodic reviews, individual, group and family
   psychotherapy, behavioral approaches, MICA
   training, Strengths Model, etc.;
• Case conceptualization, consultation, and supervision to
   paraprofessional staff;
• Knowledge and effective use of Medication Training, CMP, CPI, CPR, and
   First Aid Certification;
• Knowledge of signs and symptoms of mental illness and medications,
   i.e., benefits, risks, and side effects;
• Knowledge of the mental health system and legal system,
   using it effectively;
• Knowledge of community resources and entitlements and benefits
   of population serviced;
• Maintain healthy relationships, advocate for the members to ensure
   needs/ comfort needs are met and supervise medication
   according to policy and procedures;
• Monitor the health and safety of members, the signs and symptoms of
   their mental illness, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff;
• Leadership, i.e., organizational skills, lead the Interdisciplinary
   Treatment Team; use a team approach, assure adequate service delivery,
   compliance with all policies and procedures, etc.;
• Psychologist - administer, score and interpret psychological test/evaluations;
