Malvern
The Birch Tree Communities, Inc. Malvern branch serves approximately 60 members with 14 staff.
With a total of 22 members living in unsupervised apartments, Malvern offers a number of options
for living in the community. The newest Birch owned housing consists of eight newly remodeled apartments.
Semi-supervised living is available at the Birchleaf Apartments and adjacent group homes. Several
Malvern members take classes at Ouachita Technical College, volunteer with local non-profit service
organizations, and work in a member-led landscaping crew. The Malvern FASTrain Program includes
30 members. The newly refurbished 8000 square foot program center includes a large dining room with
a salad bar, spacious recreation area with computers, a new pool table, and exercise equipment.
Malvern members participate in weekly outings, member run book club discussions and “person-
