Conway branch is excited to announce the creation of Conway's Family and Friends Support Group. They are meeting the 4th Thursday of each month; 6:30pm at the Conway Program Center. We have had two wonderful meetings and encourage any families who have a loved one with Birch to attend if you are in the Conway area. Call Bonita Manning for more information at 501.690.5951.
Conway is expanding and may one day become one of the largest branches in the state. We have several locations throughout the city of Conway. One location is an all male 9 bed group home located at 704 4th Ave as well as another Group Home at 33 Palarm Creek Rd which is a 8 bed all male group home. This location is in a country setting with beautiful trees. We also have 4, 2 bedroom apartments right across the street from the group home on 4th Ave and just purchased a 16 bed apartment complex in Greenbrier; this is all one level and also has a country setting even though they are in town.
Members stay active at these apartments grilling out and getting together with one another. This level of closeness has allowed several folks to be able to live in an independent setting. We really focus on recovery at this branch and help each and every one to achieve their dreams. We take part in exercising at the gym in Greenbrier as well as several outdoor activities during the summer months. We enjoy meeting with other branches for cookouts and games. Conway, located in Central Arkansas, is the home of three colleges and offers a diverse range of locations to shop. Conway has an indoor miniature golf park, as well as bowling and skating.
The members enjoy all of these activities. It is a big deal when Toad Suck Daze is in full swing. Activities during this event include a carnival, art expos and the great fair food that we all enjoy. We chose the location of our new Program Center for several reasons; it is out of the busy Conway city life and it is relaxing. We also are just a few minutes from Wooly Hollow state park as well as Beaver Fork Lake and park. We would like to welcome you to stop by and visit.
