The Birch Tree Communities, Inc. Newport branch serves 10 members in our group home and Birch Tree has purchased two houses for members to move into the community to live independently which will offer more opportunities for our members to work towards their recovery. The members attend day treatment Monday thru Saturday 8am-4pm and offer various types of psychosocial and psychotherapy activities. Several of the members volunteer at the local animal shelter a couple days a week. There are a couple of the members attending college and also GED classes. Birchtree Communities, Inc. has purchased a new building for a program center which we will be able to expand the activities that are already offered.
