We have an incredible Board of Directors here at Birch Tree Communities, Inc., and we want to publicly recognize each of them and say THANK YOU for all the work that goes into this job on top of their full-time jobs. Bill Hinson has proudly served as a member of the Birch Tree Communities Board of Directors since 2009.
Mr. Hinson grew up in Blytheville, AR and after high school attended Memphis State University. He began his career in insurance as the youngest claims adjuster to work for Allstate in 1963. He then became a claims examiner manager in less than two years, and then moved on to State Manager. In 1972, he opened Bill Hinson, Inc. in Little Rock which is now known as Chenal Insurance. The agency has been in business for 51 years.
He has been married to his lovely wife, Bonnie, for more than 59 years and they have three children, Keith, Brian, and Tanya. They also have six grandchildren.
In his free-time, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife going to flea markets, antiquing, or just traveling.
Bill also enjoys music a great deal and played in a Rockabilly band back in high school. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the SwingRayes (which you can find on YouTube.) He took off from music for twenty-five years after marrying and having children, but resumed playing again in the 80s and later formed the USA Outback Band and played at various functions including fundraisers for Jennings Osbourne and now individually for retirement centers.
